About Carob and Avocado

They say about Honi ha-Me’agel: One day Honi walked along the road and saw a man planting a carob tree. Honi asked him “when would the tree bear fruits?”. The man replied: “Maybe in seventy years.” Honi then asked: “How can you tell that you will live seventy years and enjoy the fruit of the tree you plant?” The man said to him: “I found the world when there were carob trees, and just as my forefathers planted carob trees for me, I will plant the same for my son.”

Yesterday, we planted in the Avocado orchard adjusent to the fromagerie ten new avocado trees of Ettinger type.

Shabbat Shalom to you all
